Summary: Help is on the Way
Comment: I was skeptical at first about reading a book on the steps. I wasn't sure if it could help me. I had attended a few meetings and thought I knew some of the concepts, but this book opened my eyes. I think that Melody Beattie is very personal and caring in the mind of a codependent. She made me feel like I wasn't a bad person and I could recover from the out of control way my life has been. I'm only on step three, but I feel like I understand more than I have my whole life about who I am and my own needs. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with codependency or with the addiction of a loved one. I never even knew I was a codependent, but the book has taught me that I am and its ok, I just need to start making changes.
