The author of Family Encyclopedia of Homeopathic Medicine presents a fully comprehensive, holistic guide to health and wellness based on nutrition, herbs, and foods most people have right in their homes today. Arranged alphabetically by ailment, starting with acne and asthma, and going to weight gain and whooping cough, Mother Nature, M.D., provides valuable information in an ideal format. In addition, Mother Nature, M.D. takes a holistic approach to treating ailments with natural remedies. Eric Meyer and Mother Nature both know that problems such as anxiety, arrhythmia, fatigue, or Rosacea cannot be effectively treated without considering nutrition and lifestyle. To that end, Meyer begins his book with authoritative information about the foods and herbs that heal. He explains how healing plants work, why certain medications can be dangerous, and when it is time to use an antibiotic. Meyer lists many more than two hundred natural medicines and their particular properties. In a home reference section that alone makes Mother Nature, M.D. an invaluable addition to the bookshelf, Meyer list common ailments alphabetically, and prescribes a natural medicine-based plan for the healing process. Holistic and completely responsible in his approach, Meyer adds to each "prescription," two important sections: nutrition and lifestyle. With gentle, authoritative, and responsible advice, Mother Nature, M.D. offers consumers risk-free alternatives to the risky pharmaceuticals of today's medical marketplace.

Customer Rating: Summary: Natural Medicine Comment: Meyer lists more than two hundred natural medicines and their properties, as well as common ailments and a natural medicine-based plan for the healing process.
I found that this book does contain appropriate recommendations, when using natural medicine. There is some information that I have not found in other " Natural Health" books.
On the down side, I found that the amount of information on each topic, should have been a lot more in-depth, and some information;that is, herb recommendations for a particle illness was incomplete.
