Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great ! Comment: I think most of Kari's workouts are some of the best, not only are they effective but you'll keep coming back for more.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ab Training in 20 Minutes Flat Comment: "Curl" is subtitled "Ab Training in 20 Minutes Flat" and delivers on that promise. This "straight from the gym" workout is quick and efficient, targeting all areas of your abs with a variety of traditional and Pilates-inspired exercises.
Kari leads a small class of people with varying fitness and flexibility levels. This is very helpful as she points out how one participant needs to modify an exercise due to his tight hamstrings, and how another is making the moves more challenging. She also gives tips which you can use to make your other ab workouts more effective.
Kari is a great instructor, knowing when to switch exercises so you don't get bored, and when to lighten things up with her dry humour. At one point she says, "I haven't heard any whining yet. When does that start?", which always makes me laugh, despite my sore abs!
The music is great and the 20 minutes go past very quickly. If only all gym classes were this good!
This is a great workout to alternate with Cathe Friedrich's "Core Max".
Customer Rating: Summary: I use it constantly Comment: I use this DVD three to four times a week. At first I was focused on learning the correct way to do each exercise, however, after I became accustomed to the entire sequence, I started to focus on getting the most out of each movement and breath. This DVD is great because her coaching and pacing keep me focused; this is helpful since my mind has a tendency to wonder when I exercise, causing me to just go through the motions mindlessly. I like to do this routine before I shower and get dressed for work because it energizes my core muscles, gives me 20 minutes of focused breathing, and sharpens my reflexes.
