Theratherm, as opposed to dry forms of heat, draws moisture from the air and retains it in a specially designed 100% cotton cover. The retained moisture is rapidly heated by high-grade ceramics allowing deeper penetration of heat into the bodys tissue. Theratherm provides temporary relief from pain associated with muscle spasm and inflammation caused by strain and tension.

Customer Rating: Summary: pretty good heating pad Comment: This heating pad is a big improvement on the old one I had been using. I got the large (14x27) size. It is heavy duty and looks like it will last awhile. I like the controls and it is easy to operate (I just use the default temperature setting as that is warm enough for me). I bought some velcro straps so I can wrap it on my leg (the part hurting the most at the moment). I am skeptical about the ability of what looks to be a flannel cover to "draw moisture from the air". I am pretty sure any moisture comes from my skin sweating in this hot blanket. Otherwise, I recommend this heating pad. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Comment: I had researched a few brands of heating pads before buying this one. What finalized my decision was finding out that it is the one that is recommended by the Physical Therapy clinic where our son works. All of us are very impressed. Customer Rating: Summary: AAAAAHHHHHH! RELIEF! Comment: i had the same pad for 5 years and it decided to give up it's ghost a month ago, so, i finally couldn't talerate the muscles being in knots and ache bad. this theratherm does what its name applies, it heats up and draws moisture from the air and applies it to your skin and muscles for relief. i got the biggest size 14X17, i lay it vertical so it goes from Cervical #C-7 vertebrae to the lower lumbar #L-6 vertebrae.
i highly recommend it to everyone who has muscle issues, also getting a massage twice a month helps, too.. Customer Rating: Summary: well constructed, great pad Comment: The first thing I noticed when opening the box was the substantial weight of the pad itself. This pad has substance and is well padded.
The control unit is very well made and does not feel like a light piece of plastic.
The "moist heat" is something new for me, and it works. I read the instructions "Do not lay ON the pad, lay the pad on you". Well, of course the first thing I did was lay directly on the pad to see what happened. The moisture from the "moist heat" built up quickly on my backside and now I can see why one wouldn't want to lay directly on the pad. Makes the body too sweaty very quickly. For my back, I layed on my side with my back against the pad instead on laying on top of the pad, which worked great for soothing back pain and not becoming too sweaty.
Overall, this heating pad is very well made and worth every penny. Gone are the days of using the old thin pads with the cheap plastic controller. Customer Rating: Summary: Can't live without it! Comment: I have a chronic back problem and after being out and doing errands I look so forward to coming home and lying on this wonderful heating pad! Went with my husband for a 5 day vacation and of course the heating pad came along! I've had it for quite a while now and it's still working great! If you suffer from any kind of arthritis or other painful disorders, this heating pad is for you! It really does work with the humidity in the air. Love it!
