It doesn't say male or female on the label. You don't have to be a guy (or even be built like one) to enjoy the benefits of the Classic Camelbak. I gave in and bought one after having trouble finding decent reviews for women's versions (I tried one on in the store before coming back to Amazon). All of the straps are very adjustable (the chest strap can be lowered a lot or pulled or off), and they feel very smooth (no sharp edges) for nylon. It has a zippered pocket that has enough room for a car key, 2-3 gels, and a small cell phone. If you add cold water, it insulates it and keeps it cold til the very end. So far I've taken my Classic on a few 4-16 mile runs with me (including a 10-miler on a 90-degree day), and I am happy with it.
There's only two things I'd really change:
1) The straps get looser the longer you run (as you drink) so it continually has to be tightened during long runs. It seems like adding some sort of bungie/elastic in the straps may help.
2) It needs a key clip in the pocket. The CamelBak Catalyst has this kind of function, and it really makes life easier as I don't worry about losing my car key while reaching in for a gel.
Other than that, I am *very* pleased with this pack. I heartily recommend this pack for both male and female runners.
