Summary: Great for HRT analysis
Comment: I found this book simple to read and full of useful information - especially the chapter about all the different types of HRT and their ingredients and why it is important not just to stick to one type, one dose. So many women get stuck on one that does not suit them. It helped me weigh up the pros and cons of HRT and why it is important to consider it as a treatment in particular for early menopause.
I have a child and was fine about not being able to have any more at 36 so the emotional stuff this book covers about that aspect of POF was not relevant to me. It is a practical and empathetic book that covers a wide range of useful information whatever implications POF may have for you.

Summary: A "Must HAVE" book for woman of all ages.
Comment: Kudos to Kathryn Petras for writing a book on a subject that is long overdue. This book holds a wealth of information pertaining to menopause which has, until now, been unobtainable. I'm 48, not necessarily Pre-Menopausal, but have been suffering from many of the symptoms Kathryn describes. My plan is to be tested, ASAP, in order to begin preventive treatment. This book was fantastic and I am rushing a copy to my girlfriend in Westchester who may have been suffering of premature menopause for years. The doctors do not take her seriously. At any rate, BUY THIS BOOK. Finally, the truth about menopause has been revealed as well as many ways to treat and/or deal with it. THANK YOU, KATHRYN PETRAS!!!

Summary: Everything you need to know about premature menopause
Comment: I read about this book in the paper and immediately ordered it. And it's great! It is packed with studies, information on HRT and risks, discussions about herbs and vitamins, the emotional problems we face and more, and includes lots of facts and studies I had never seen before. I've been doing research on this for a while and it has been difficult to find information on premature menopause. Thank you, Katherine Petras for pulling everything together and making this available! It was a real relief to find this book.

Summary: A Very Big Help
Comment: This book is such a great help and really fills a void. I was dx'd as being in premature menopause just two months ago, and wasn't able to find much information at all; only books that briefly mentioned it in passing. So I was so thrilled to learn about this book. The information on the emotional side of things, in particular, has been a great help to me. I highly recommend this book if you are going through menopause at an early age.

Comment: I recently got the shocking news that I was going through menopause (at age 32) -- the grief and anger were just overwhelming. This book told me everything I needed to know and plenty of stuff my doctor needed to know. But most of all it made me feel like I wasn't alone.
