Summary: Great for new mums-to-be
Comment: Having just found out I am pregnant (yay!), I picked up a copy of this in my local bookshop. It's absolutely brilliant. The content is detailed, educated and well-written, and a great antidote to all those books that are mostly pictures with a few sentences about each week of pregnancy. Best of all this book is UK-based - so many pregnancy books seem to be US in origin. Consequently the info about the health system, tests during pregnancy and antenatal care is far more relevant and informative. It's everything you need to know, and a whole load of other stuff you don't know you want to know - buy it!

Summary: Perfect pregnancy book
Comment: I bought a couple of other pregnancy books, none of which held my interest but then a good pal gave me a loan of this one and it really does the job. I'm 8 months pregnant with my 1st baby and this book has the usual month by month, week by week layout but what makes it stand out is the straightforward style, clear English, the level of detail and the HUGE index. There aren't any glossy photos but it's so easy to dip in and out of and has answered all of my questions. I'd thoroughly recommend this one as your pregnancy encyclopedia!

Summary: The best book
Comment: I got lent this book when I was already at 37 weeks and thought I knew the lot. However, it immediately offered me two immensely useful pieces of information that I hadn't found anywhere else that really helped me. Flicking through the rest, I found the tone of the book to be very friendly and informative. I wish I'd had it from 7 weeks.

Summary: Excellent balance between pregnancy facts and sound advice
Comment: I found this book to be really informative without overloading you on biological facts. I also found all the advice about tiredness and what you might be going through emotionally really helpful without being patronising. The book is throughly researched, the facts are based on real data from real pregnancies but with the added reassurance of the authors who've clearly seen a pregnancy or two.
