Summary: Clear, concise and thorough
Comment: This book contains a full description of the most commonly used carrier oils (with some unusual ones too). It also covers natural butters like shea butter and cocoa butter.
Each section covers details of species available, etymology, history, common usage, how/where the plant grows, extraction method, principal constituents (which fatty acids), it gives details of smell, acid levels, vitamin and mineral levels, details of therapeutic use and properties, cosmetic use, culinary use, cautions and further notes.
It also covers basic knowledge of chemistry - and how the different types of essential fatty acids can benefit the skin. It is very important information that all people who work with natural oils will benefit from.

Comment: A useful reference book - lots of information that's hard to find elsewhere. A handy guide to base oils, a topic neglected by the huge majority of aromatherapy books.
There's some information I'd hope to find that is lacking (is it suitable for children? what percentage of a massage oil should it form?) and a few base oils missing (vitamin E oil, black seed oil, neem oil, emu oil).
Overall though, if you're interested in the subject, a worthwhile addition to your library.
