It gives some great ideas for coping with challenging behaviours. in particular my Son is motivated by colours and numbers so we will be able to calm him down and reduce inappropriate behaviours through the methods used in the book. it is a very simple concept and easy for parents to implement. Customer Rating: Summary: a very handy book for a child with ASD Comment: Only got this book the other day and started using it right away, a simple idea but the best ones always are. My son 'get's it' right away and now understands that he can be behaving ona scale of 1-5 - we've talked about it and we'll start to devise our own charts. Using the pitch of his voice is such a good idea....children with ASD are often VERY LOUD and this impacts on the whole family. He has at least started to realise that when he is at a 4 or 5 and really making a lot of noise - then I start feeling a 4 or 5 too. If you have a child with ASD or ADHD this will be a very handy book to help you cope!
