Summary: Classic Style
Comment: This book is for men looking for _classic_ style, not fly-by-night fads of fashion. If you are a dedicated follower of all the new trends and colours, this book is not for you.
But if you, like me, want to understand the origins of style and get an insight into what should be worn when, and how it should be worn, this book is for you.
It covers all aspects of mens wear, from underwear to overcoats, and does it in a very readable manner. It can be dipped into, or if you like me, read from cover to cover and then read for nuggets of advise when necessary.

Summary: A wonderful book
Comment: This is a must read book for all the men wanting detailed information about the way to dress well, with some style and importantly, the history of why we dress in a particular way. It is the detail the author goes into regarding the history that I found most interesting. I also liked the comparisons between the English, continental / Italian and the American styles of dress code. It also gives very helpful information on grooming. Altogether a very good book and one I can't recommend highly enough.

Summary: The classical graphic guide par excellence...
Comment: This is the really graphic book to have when in doubt about to what to wear... and when... there are some truly useful tips in it about HOW to dress like a gentlemen (NOT about been or behaving like... that is another matter I am afraid... and a lot of upbringing will be needed...).
Lavishly illustrated, and with technical explanations much to the point.
If you dress by it you won't be taken at fault... but do not be misguided and do not become obsessed to the point of overdressing! (a sartorial cardinal sin!) lol.
Probably one of the best books about male dress around.

Summary: Dress in style
Comment: This is a fantastic book on how to dress in a stylish way, it covers everything from grooming tips and aftershave to the best makes of shoes and shirts. Unlike some other superficial books on the market this has real substance to it, you can actually read this book and know exactly what to go out and buy. This isn't a book on the latest fashions but how to develop a wardrobe that will stand the test of time.

Summary: Not good enough
Comment: The book is richly illustrated and colourful, but the really good points are scarce, and many topics are only superficially discussed. The style parts are rather uninspiring, and there's a lack of argument behind the fashion-choices presented in the book. Questions like "why is a suit designed like this?" are simply not answered.
Alan Flusser's "Dressing the Man" is a much better choice.
