Summary: Are they serious?
Comment: Got this DVD yesterday and giving it a go for the first time today. Practically gave up almost immediately - impossible to follow. So I thought I would see how other people have got on with it and read the reviews - thank you, very helpful - maybe I will try and persevere but not being a very patient person with much time to spare, I think it's unlikely.
My biggest complaint with this - and other fitness DVD's - is that they never have someone doing the routine with their back to you - know what I mean? Not only do you have to try and learn all the moves but you have to learn them in reverse. Please please fitness DVD makers - we don't need to see your face! I find myself trying to do it by turning the other way round (so I am the same way round as them) and looking over my shoulder - impossible! I think I'll go back to the boring treadmill, trampoline, cross trainer . . .

Comment: After watching Erin and Karen on Strictly come Dancing I instantly wanted to buy this workout dvd. After using it a couple of times I really loved it. The steps can be difficult, so you will need to do it a couple of times each week to make sure you improve. Apart from that I thought it was good value for money, and if you want to feel a burn in your legs and arms after using it, then this is the one for you.

Comment: I love work out DVDs with a dance element. The first time I tried it I was quite frustrated, but with perceverance I am now able to do the workout steps 95% of the time. There are some complicated steps but if you keep working on them they get easier.
I like all the different dances, the quickstep and jive are definitely the most high impact, but the feeling of accomplishment at the end makes it all worthwhile. I think if you like dancing and are willing to invest some time, this is a great choice. I found spending a little time on the instructional parts, separate from workout time, helped me refine some difficult steps. If you get stuck initially, focus on keeping moving during the workout and then find the relevant section in the instructional part.
A great workout, which works the body... and the mind!

Comment: I totally agree with all the reviews that say stick with it. This is a fun dvd to get fit to. I do this with a friend twice a week and we have both toned up and feel much better for it.
After watching through a couple of times, we decided to stick to one dance over and over first, then added the others one by one as we mastered the moves. It took us about 6 weeks to master all of them but the sequence seems to have been done to warm up with the cha cha cha being the least aerobic, the quick step and jive in the middle give you a really good aerobic workout. The samba is a good cool down routine but I would still recommend doing the actual warm up and cool down as the stretching exercises are invaluable and stop the aches and pains!
I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: The most enjoyable workout DVD....
Comment: ....it really is, especially if you are a fan of SCD. I have been using this as a core part of my workout regime since January this year and I have lost four stone (with calorie counting too). One of the key factors in this weight loss programme is that I have been enjoying the exercise, and therefore I am motivated to continue.
This really is the most fun - it works you, but you are dancing so you are learning moves to impress your friends at parties etc. I had never learned any kind of dancing EVER, and I find Karen and Erin's tuition pleasant and easy to follow. My feet didn't always do what I wanted them to at first, but it is really worth working through the instruction sections a few times until you pick it up.
I exercise in the morning before work, and nothing puts me in a better mood for the day than jive/samba (and the rest is fantastic too). Buy it, stick with it, and you'll love it. I was a confirmed couch potato and it really works for me!
